With more than twenty-two years of salon and spa
experience, Peigi Fisher-Hanson brings a great deal
of creativity, knowledge and guidance to The Spa at River
Ridge.
Peigi was raised in Fremont, Ohio, a small town near
Port Clinton. Being the youngest of eight children, Peigi
was well aware that her parents expected all six girls in
the family to attend all girls’ colleges. She chose a career
path in cosmetology, which struck a balance between her
parents’ educational ideals and her love for artistic creativity
and customer service.
After graduating from the Tiffin Academy of Hair Design in
1988, Peigi decided to move to Columbus to begin her
career in hairstyling at a large corporate spa. While at the
spa, she obtained many awards for beating company goals
and records, and gained a very loyal clientele – many of whom are still with her today. Peigi’s next step in the industry was partnering with a fellow stylist to open Spectrum Salon in Dublin’s Historic District. Spectrum provided hair and nail services and was a great learning venture in the realm of salon ownership.
In 1996, Peigi and her husband, Eric Hanson, decided it was time to open their own spa, and so The Spa at River Ridge was born. The spa provides hair, nail, skincare and massage services. From the beginning, Peigi and Eric have aspired to create a family-oriented space that felt like home, yet provided professional, caring and cutting-edge services all in one “medium-sized spa”. Clients have often commented how the staff and setting of the spa both have a very cohesive, personal feel, and as owners Peigi and Eric are proud to see their vision fulfilled. In 2010, an opportunity to move and expand The Spa at River Ridge was sought out. In September, the spa expanded to a beautiful new space, almost doubling in size.
Peigi is very passionate about her work and her commitment to the clients and employees of the spa. By far the best part of the experience she has had in the cosmetology industry is the people. She says, “I love being
able to share each other's lives and make people feel better about themselves. I recognize how people come in to my life when I most need them to. Every person I encounter has been brought to me for some reason at whatever point I am in, whether it is me helping them in some unknown way, or them helping me. It amazes me everyday”.
Peigi is inspired by her husband, Eric, for his wisdom and balance, and her children, Ellie, Clayton and Angie, for their love and joy of life.
