Hand tied extensions are AHH-MAZING! If you want instant length and volume, then hand tied extensions might be for you!
As the name suggests, these hair extension wefts are tied by hand which allows them to lay flatter to the head than machine tied wefts, making them more comfortable and seamless.
Our preferred hand tied wefts are from Bombshell Extensions because they use 100% human Remy hair which means that the hair comes unprocessed and with a cuticle layer (hair's natural protective layer) still in-tact which makes it very healthy, soft, shiny, and ultimately very high in quality! Bombshell hand tied extensions come in 14", 16", 18", 20", 22" and 24" lengths and can be purchased as a half pack with 60 grams of hair or a full pack with 120 grams of hair--that's a lot of hair!
While hand tied extensions can be for anyone desiring length and/or volume, sometimes your hair isn’t the best candidate. Hair that is too fragile to withstand the weight of the extensions would not be a good candidate. Or hair that has a lot of texture, but the client doesn't like to smooth their hair daily, may not be a good candidate. Extensions, unless ordered with texture, are very smooth, with a healthy shine.
Our standard hand tied extension install includes one to two rows of hair with four wefts of hair per row. We use the hidden bead method which is two wefts above and two wefts below the bead, which we have found to be the most discreet, the most durable and most comfortable on the scalp.
As your natural hair grows, the extension rows will need to be moved up, typically every 6-10 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. Extension move up appointments are a great time to get your natural hair colored as well!
At the end of your first extension installation appointment, we send you home with a little goody bag that includes Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner, a Framar detangler brush and a pack of Teleties. It is recommended that you sleep in a loose braid and only wash the extensions once a week, but you can section out the crown of your hair (which isn’t covered by extensions) to wash it more frequently, if needed.
